The Association for Visual Arts (AVA) promotes contemporary visual art production through regular exhibitions, showcasing all media by established and emerging artists. It aims to promote the discursive and experimental nature of contemporary art, to make important contributions to the ‘open texture’ of South Africa’s art community.

Temporary position: Gallery Assistant Internship

The Association for Visual Arts (AVA) invites applications for a paid, part-time Gallery Assistant Internship. Interns will provide essential support to the gallery's operations, focusing on administrative and reception duties while gaining valuable experience in the art world.

Duration:

● 2 months

● Hours to be agreed (+- 20 hrs per week, Monday - Saturday)

● Applicants must be available for a scheduled interview between 29 June and 7 July, and ready to begin the internship on Monday, 13 July 2026.

Paid position: R4,000 per month
