Erin Sweeney, born in Johannesburg, South Africa, is a curator, writer and artist. After completing their undergraduate degree at Michaelis School of Fine Art, they did their honours with the Center for Curating the Archive. Their work has been exhibited in Eclectica Contemporary, AVA Contemporary, Africa Games Week, and more. During their internship at Iziko Museums of South Africa, they co-curated an exhibition entitled Hide and Seek, Objects in Purgatory.
Sweeney engages with a number of mediums, primarily photography, installation and video. Their works emphasises themes of absence, longing and memory.
