Aaliya Dramat
Co-Curator of Tell me about a day you don’t remember (Group Show) 26.06.25 - 31.07.25
Aaliya Dramat (b. 1999, Cape Town) completed her Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from Michaelis School of Fine Art in 2021 as a Dean’s Merit List Qualifier. She has also graduated in the first class with an Honours in Curatorship Degree from the Centre for Curating the Archive. During her time interning at Iziko Museums, Dramat co-curated an exhibition titled Hide and Seek: Objects in Purgatory. She has a strong enthusiasm for preserving culture, tangible or intangible. This includes her interest in inner city dynamics, including spatial politics and modern-day identity politics within the urban environment of Cape Town. She is interested in the complex interplay of social, cultural, and political structures that shape the city’s fabric. Dramat’s curatorial approach involves exploring the tangible aspects of art, pushing the limits of conventional presentation, and inviting viewers into transformative encounters with the artwork.
