Svea Josephy

Svea Josephy is Associate Professor of Fine Art (Photography) at the Michaelis School of Fine Art at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She is a practicing artist who has held solo and group exhibitions, in South Africa and internationally. Josephy’s research interests include Southern African Photography, documentary photography, contemporary and post-apartheid photography, particularly as it connects to the politics of structures, land, space and the environment. Her writing has been published in various books, edited collections, journals and catalogues on contemporary art and photography.
