WHY DOES AVA POST AN OPEN CALL?
We are an association of artists. Membership is open to all. We promote discursive experimental & inclusive art and exhibition-making This is why our call for exhibition proposals is open to all.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Calling curators of any sort or vintage to propose dynamic group exhibitions for 2021!
WHY CURATORS?
In 2021 we celebrate the important role that curators play in bringing different voices & distinct palettes into public dialogue
WHAT TYPE OF EXHIBITIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Exhibitions that question or reflect, carry daring ideas or promote maverick conversations
HOW DO I APPLY?
We ask you to submit a Biography, exhibition framework & images.
CO-PRODUCTION OR INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION, WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE?
CO-PRODUCTION: The AVA offers á la carte assistance with fundraising, marketing, artist liaison or any other aspect of production to realize the curator’s vision
INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION : For those of you who have all the relevant programming and funding in place and don’t need our help!
TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE CO-PRODUCTION OPTION? We want to help you create the best exhibition possible! By applying for a co-production, you are enabling the AVA to assist with covering or raising funds for costs associated with the exhibition such as curators fee, production costs, gallery rental, marketing, workshops and performances. A detailed budget is key!
WHAT IF I CHOOSE THE INDEPENDENT PRODUCTION OPTION?
If you choose to fly solo, great! You will be responsible for the gallery rental as stated in the application form, which includes a package of AVA facilitation services such as installation, marketing, administration and an event of your choice.
