AVA Exhibition: Reflections of a Queen (Solo Show) | 26.06.25 - 31.07.25

Kganya Mogashoa (b. 1994) is the visionary founder of Koranges Art (Pty) Ltd, based in Johannesburg, South Africa. A graduate of Interior Design (BTech Hons, 2016), Mogashoa embarked on her artistic journey in 2018, leaving her corporate career behind in 2019 to fully pursue her passion for visual art. A self-taught visual artist, she specializes in mixed-media paintings, combining oil and acrylic paints with gold jewelry, African fabrics, and pearls to craft compelling portraits and human figures.

Mogashoa’s work explores societal responses to women’s roles and needs, drawing inspiration from evolving gender dynamics. As a social “artivist,” she addresses challenges faced by women, using her traveling art exhibitions to prompt awareness and action. Her creations highlight transformative moments and inspiring women, reflecting her vision for positive societal change.

In November 2022, Mogashoa was recognized as a Debut Catalyst under Business & Arts South Africa, positioning her among the country’s top 25 emerging artists. She later participated in the South African State Theatre Incubator Programme (2022/2023), further solidifying her commitment to artistic innovation. Among her notable exhibitions is Sheroes Rands Herstory (March 2023), held during International Women’s Month at the South African State Theatre. This exhibition celebrated African sheroes from South Africa and the USA.

Mogashoa’s contributions have earned her accolades, including a nomination for the Forty Under 40 Awards South Africa (Theatre and Arts) and an award for the 100 South African Shining Stars Award in the Arts, Culture & Media category. A portion of her art collection was showcased in Dallas, Texas, as part of her residency with the Indibano Art Residency Program in 2024. Her work has been featured in prominent publications such as Art Times and The Cincinnati Herald, extending her influence to a global audience.
