THE TRINE ART COLLECTIVE

24.11.22 - 12.01.23

The Trine Art Collective is a group of three visual artists living and working in the Western Cape, South Africa, who came together through mutual interests and a desire to explore and participate in the broader art world. Our aim is to learn and grow from each other through exposure to different interests, materials, techniques and technologies.

The artists of the Trine Collective are concerned with the inescapable destiny of humanity. As a collective, we grapple with an awareness of loss in our investigation into the ecologies that form part of the fabric of our everyday lives. As artists, we respond individually to the disruptive forces which alters the ecologies of nature, the city and home. In light of the accelerated growth of capitalist culture in our timeline, we cannot turn our attention away from these fragile ecologies. Our work is a documentation and a response to these changing ecologies as it is happening in a hypermediated world characterised by multiple crises.
