2024 AGM: CALL FOR BOARD MEMBER NOMINATIONS (CLOSED)

The Association for Visual Arts (AVA) is managed by a Board that is nominated and elected annually at its AGM. Meetings take place bimonthly, though subcommittees may meet more frequently.

AVA is calling for nominations for new Board Members. You must be a paid-up member of the Association to stand for election. To become a member, click here. See below for types of membership. Any member of the association can nominate themselves (or another member, with permission). AVA Members with legal and financial expertise are encourages to apply.

Applications must include a short bio (150 words), an abbreviated CV (to be attached) and a short motivation (100 words). Please remember that all Board Members offer their services on a voluntary basis.

The present Committee comprises: Keely Shinners (Chairperson), Ina Voloshin (Vice Chairperson), Michael Gran (Treasurer), Antony Arvan, Helen Andrews, Jonathan Goschen, Elske Henderson, Tebogo George Mahashe, Sindile Mkhabela, Candice Thiekson and Angela Shaw.

Memberships run annually and subscriptions are collected on sign ups and renewal, at the AVA Gallery or by EFT (proof of payment sent to admin@ava.co.za, using your name and surname in the bank reference.)

Types of membership (2024/5): Single: R150; Couple: R280; Organisation: R300; Pensioners & Students: R75

Long-term: Single, two years: R280; Single, five years: R550
